Colossal! (II)

Colossal

There are many few things that are important in life. You noticed I said “many few”. I say so because even though we all have our individual lists of deal breakers or issues that cannot be compromised as we relate with others, they may still differ from person to person. _(Pause here, please. I would love you to oblige me with the 5 most important qualities/attributes you feel a person should possess. And if you can, add your reasons.)_

We read the Apostle say: “I greet the Christians and stalwart followers of Christ who live in Colosse. May everything good from God our Father be yours!” (Colossians 1:2 MSG) I find it significant that the issue of *faithfulness* is brought up so early. He called them stalwart followers—people who were devoted, dedicated and dependable. Based on that blessed them with all things good!

Did faithfulness make it to your list? Are you faithful? In life, you are defined by what you believe and described by how you behave. Your belief and behaviour have a connection and produce results accordingly. (We will address these soon.)

Faithfulness is exemplified in the actions of someone who has a firm and constant devotion to something. The “something” being a person or cause to which he or she is united by a promise or pledge. This is one of the most sought for traits. The CEO wants it, the clergyman longs for it, the spouse needs it, the politician is ready to pay for it, and even God seeks for it in our hearts! Faithfulness!

I don’t intend to take you on a guilt trip. But I am sure there have been times when you have slipped. Like me, you may not have attained 100% faithfulness at all times. You may have fallen off the track for a period. You may even be tottering at the edge right now. But one decision can set you right and keep you upright. Make it today! Become faithful!

Jerrad Lopes said “We will not naturally drift into becoming faithful disciples… We must be intentional!” So, what can you do to cultivate faithfulness? I will share 3 thoughts, you are free to add more to the list.

  1. Put God first. _Sincerely submitting to God puts a lot of excesses under check._
  2. Be authentic. _Genuineness will keep you from falseness and habitual reneging._
  3. Keep your promises. _Be true to your word. Follow through with your commitments._ Start from the little things and build up from there.

Someone said, “When faithfulness is most difficult, it is most necessary.” Faithfulness makes people great.

Become Colossal!

See Possibilities!
