4 ways to show up when you are late (Part III)
4 ways to show up when you are late (Part III)

COME ON STAGE WITH A KEEN CATCH-UP MENTALITY
One thing that should be clear to you as an adult time is not on our side. When we were young, we wanted time to speed by; we could not wait to be adults! Now we are adults, and we are panicking looking for the pause bottom, but there is none! Every day that passes should alert us—we will soon hit that critical moment when we realise that there is more time behind us than there will ever be in front of us.
Time is a gift from God, and no one knows how much of it we have been allotted. Earth is spinning and it does not care about you! It will not pause for you. It will not stop for you. In fact, no one knows when life will be over for us. Consequently, we are urged thus: “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil’ (Ephesians 5:15-16).
Redeeming is an active word that means buying back, or regaining possession of something. Only God knows how much time each of us has on earth “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. and in Your book, they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:16). So, the psalmist prayed: So, teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalms 90:12).
“Redeem the time” is a divine mandate to live in constant alertness of that ticking clock and make the most of every opportunity we have. Today is your opportunity. What would you do with it?
“Redeem the time” is a divine mandate!
The second dimension to this mandate is the fact that time that has been lost can be redeemed! This miracle can occur if you are willing to apply wisdom and take action. God is able to help you to recover time that was previously misspent. How? He can give you other opportunities that can make up for what you previously lost! He can multiply your productivity and fruitfulness. He can do the miracle; you just have to be in the right place (mentally and spiritually). Do you see Moses? He lost 40 years. His mistake cost Israel 30 years of extra pain and servitude. But because he was in the ‘right place’ God could reach him and restore him.
What opportunities have you missed? Bonding time with spouse and children? Business ideas and connections? Standing up for Jesus before unbelievers? No matter what it is, God knows how to bring things around. It may not happen the exact same way, but within that situation will be the opportunity to redeem yourself.
So, move fast! Do not be sluggish. Do not be heavily burdened. Do not procrastinate.
It is catch-up time!
Godspeed will attend to you!
